On the 28th of February, Jeanne and I walked in the Bunnings Hardware Store and walked out with over 45 litres of paint and painting materials. We’re hunkering down for the next god knows how many weekends and tackle a job we’ve been procrastinating. After over 12 years since we built the house, we’re repainting. We’re taking with us lessons learned from when we painted our Helena home, and last years painting of Jessica’s room. Jessica is also braced to help in between her Uni work and is proving to be a very invaluable ally. Celine, even with a very hectic Uni and work load has always finds time to lend a hand in cleaning and preparing rooms as well. This has become a family project.
Here is the result of the first completed room.
Great job… looks like it is a work of art…we are thinking of painting now that we see this. Anymore room to show?
Thank you. The dining area is a work in progress. There’s a lot of work that went in it, but more on fixing the damages of what heavy curtains did. I had to rip a wall and put some timbre behind it then re-plastered it. Will post photos as they complete.
We had been quite bold with the selection of the feature wall colour. I was forced into it because Jessica felt we were copying the colours of her room :-). When I saw the first wet coat, I felt that we were going to regret having made this colour choice for next 12 years when it’s repainting time again :-). After the 2 coats have dried well, however, I thought it actually looked fabulous and even inspired me to buy those matching lampshades! Now we feel like literally painting the whole house red! 😀
WoW!!!! Kainggit naman….your room is one for the shows! REally wish we can do that here….I’m going to show them at home what you’ve done para maiinggit sila at ganahan…. I love the color. Pasky didn’t mind scarlet? hahahahha
Celine and I have no hand in the colours. We just let Jeanne and Jessica argue about it.
Ate Ditz, I picked this colour! I love it, too! The very first coat of paint while it was still wet made me think I was going to regret my colour choice. After it has dried, I was pleased with the outcome!
